Busy Bee Thursday

Thank you for responding! I am new to WLS (two-months post) and am fairly new to OH site. I wanted to venture away from General Discussion and VSG'ers...so when I found an over 50 group I became excited. I was confused by the posts and thought maybe I was linked to a FB page. :-) :-)
So, this is another place to come with questions? I like the friendliness of the group. Again, thank you for getting back to me.

Hi Suzanne!
I'm scheduled for surgery in 4/6 so I am a total newbie. I am asking a lot of questions as well as chatting with this lovely group of ladies. Welcome!
Christine
We had tornados through our mountain last night and today it is hot and humid. My allergies, geeze. I don't think I will ever have a day without running eyes, nose, congestion, or rashes. I know this is the season but man oh man. I'm on steroids both orally, nasally, and inhalelently, and I am taking breathing treatments every four hours and still I feel like crap. I swear the toxins that come from this beautiful mountain.
Vic, I hope you found some granite that you like; Connie, I hope you start feeling better soon, it sucks being worn out and in pain; Eileen, I know you will miss the big TV but maybe it will only be temporary and you guys can replace it. Carla, you travelled out of Florida as I travelled to Florida. LOL. To the new ladies, welcome and ask any questions you might have because one of us or more can answer. My advice to the newbies who have had surgery: drink water, measure your food, walk; for those about to have surgery, stock up on sugar free jello, homemade broths, and sugar free popsicles. Welcome and jump right in. For those I missed, dang, I'm so sorry but I have about a ten second memory.
Hi everyone!
Busy day today. I spent several hours at the hospital having my pre-op tests, x-rays, etc. and then we had a detailed class covering all the nutrition requirements, immediate pre surgery and what happens after surgery for out program. Talk about information overload! It's mostly stuff I've already heard folks on OH talk about, so it wasn't too surprising, just a lot of information. There will be two other ladies having WLS surgery on the same day as me, so it was nice to meet my counterparts. I will have A TON of questions for you ladies over the next week though. The countdown has begun!
Vickie, i about that blitz of cleaning but I have to say, my hubby Ron is the fanatical cleaner in the family. I like a clean house but he puts me to shame. He wouldn't invite anyone into the house for a repair unless he'd disinfected the entire kitchen first. I'm not complaining; I am quite spoiled with his cleaning skills! I hope Butch is feeling better tonight...
Trish, those allergies sound horrendous. I hope you find some relief!
Connie, take care hon, and please don't over do anything. There is little I hate more than nausea. Ugh!
Eileen, I'm pretty savvy with technology but sometimes routers defy explanation. We went for almost a year with a single 26" TV (and two teenagers at the time). It isn't fun. You'll definitely get closer :-)
Jeannie - it's hard for me to imagine T storms since it's so cold here, still. And yes I will be stocking up on the items you mentioned over the next week. Plus I ll be on clear liquids on Easter Sunday too! But that's ok, I'm looking forward to my new beginning on the day after Easter.
So ok ladies, I have a bunch to catch up on here at home. Prayers to all those who need it. Peace and happiness and good health to all!

________
137 pounds lost - from a 24/26W to a size 8/10!
Christine, I had the 27-incher before Richard moved in; he brought the TV with him. I enjoyed it, but it was his to sell. I talked him out of it once, but I can see where he wanted to pay his own bills for once and not ask me for money all the time. I know I wouldn't enjoy it. He's been unemployed now for more than a year. It's hard on a guy who was a high-level manager for so long. I think it's harder on him than me. I was used to the smaller TV.
Hello Everyone!
I went for my 4 month heart check-up & clearance for my surgery yesterday. The cardiologist looks over my records, says everything looks good & my stress test last summer was also good!
WHAT STRESS TEST? I pointed out haven't had one since 1/13!!! Oh...she looked at dates wrong! Geez, I hate this when doctors are so overwhelmed they don't have time to thoroughly go over your chart!
So I have a stress test in 2 weeks.
I also met w/pulmonary doctor who just did an intake and scheduled a breathing test in May.
I have also lost 22 pounds since January and the majority has been since I started changing my diet so I am happy about that! I just hope I can start moving more as I must be far more out of shape than I thought...ugh!
So when I hear about Vickie running around like she does, the car trips, etc. it just boggles my mind. The energy!
Glad everyone is doing fairly well despite our 'elderly' aches and pains...lol! Christine...so excited your surgery is coming up so fast! I hope you are starting to feel better so you'll be in top shape for the big day!
Everyone have a great night!
Welcome to our newcomer (I am so bad with names!)
